Macintosh or red delicious. Red or green. What do you use to make your apple pie? Whichever it may be, bring it over to the 9th Annual Apple Pie Contest at Enid’s on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m.

This is the most seriously fun event around, Brooklyn Paper says. This event is strictly about the pie, so if your treat has a crust bring it on over!

The contest is open to all bakers you feel that their apple pie is the sweetest and juiciest around to wow the panel of judges. The panel consists of Harry Rosenblum, owner of Brooklyn Kitchen; Rachel Warton of Edible Brooklyn magazine; last year’s winners Charlie Mirisola and Michael Stewart and a surprise celebrity guest.

Awards will be distributed for the best crust, best looking and overall deliciousness. Harry Rosenblum gives his advice and says, “Make sure the crust is flaky, that you use sugar and salt, and that it’s cooked all the way; raw pies are gross.”

It is the season for apples so come over to the Apple Pie Contest and enjoy a slice!
