Lovin Cup Cafe makes a good Bloody Mary...which while drinking one made me think...Is Brunch even brunch without a Bloody Mary....? I'm guessing there are some of you out there that prefer a Mimosa or screwdriver. That's OK. Some might prefer a few bottles of Champagne table hopping at the latest trendoid Sunday "Club" ...sorry not my scene or bag baby:) One or two might even be wondering why am I bringing up liquor...you drink coffee or tea with your brunch..right?
For it to really be brunch I need a Bloody Mary. If it's with a special someone then I might only have one...or two. However, if it's with friends...I kinda like a few or so with a small to mid-sized group so everyone can engage and while away the day (my friends and I usually have a fair amount to cover after all) Now while New York has a fair amount of all you can drink brunches( frequently cut off at 3...if you don't behave) Williamsburg doesn't seem to have a whole lot of them.
Luckily Lovin Cup Cafe has one for $15 that includes an entree and unlimited Bloody Mary's. There are 3 from the Savory side - Rancheros(Mexican with the works...add bacon for $3), The Sweet Jane Scramble(lots of veggies), and an Egg Sandwich. On the Sweet side...Pancakes, French Toast stuffed with cream cheese and raspberries, and a oversize Pancake with eggs and tatter tots. My crew stayed on the Savory side of things and enjoyed the food and really liked that the Bloody Mary's had lots of Horseradish(too many places leave it out) in them. Size wise they came in either pint glasses or at times high balls...not sure if that was based on availability or based on one behaving oneself...I did get mostly Pints...
